Ask what home care costs in Mauritius and you will usually be told it depends. That is a hard way to plan for someone you love. So we publish our home care rates in full, along with everything that can change them.

Our Care Operations Director, decides which grade your family needs at the first assessment and writes it into the care plan. It is a clinical decision, not a sales one.
Our rates
Visiting care by the hour
For a few hours of help rather than a full day. Visits are a minimum of two hours, so a carer has time to do things properly rather than rush out of the door. The one exception is bathing, which we offer as a single hour, because for many families that is where care begins.

Travel within Northern Mauritius is included. Where two carers are needed to move someone safely, the visit is charged at double. Public holidays are charged at double, and Sunday visits booked outside your regular pattern carry an extra 50%.
Day and night care
A waking night means your carer stays awake and watchful until morning. A sleeping night means they rest nearby and wake when needed. Dementia care and bedridden care are given by a health care assistant with experience of that particular kind of care, which is why they cost more.

Live-in care
Someone in the home day and night, so your mother or father is never alone. Live-in care is provided by a small team of carers who take turns, with one staying at a time. You meet all of them before care begins, and the rota stays the same month to month. For care of a month or longer, our Live-In package works out lower than the daily rate.

The family provides a private room and meals for the live-in carer. Public holidays are charged at double.

Light housekeeping and medication reminders are already included in day and live-in care. These rates are for families who need them on their own.
If the numbers don't work, tell us anyway
Every family's situation is different. If what you need doesn't fit these rates, or the cost is more than you can manage, say so when you get in touch. Sometimes there is a different shape of care that works better and costs less, and sometimes we can find a way. We would rather have the conversation than have you decide against calling.

You will always get a written quote before care starts, with the figure and how we reached it. We will never ask you to agree to a range.

Two hours. It gives a carer time to do things properly, and it means your loved one gets a visit rather than a rush. The one exception is bathing, which we offer as a single hour, because for many families that is where care begins.

Public holidays are charged at double, and Sunday visits at an extra 50%. Both go to the carer working that day. If Sundays are already part of your regular arrangement, such as live-in care or a six-day package, there is no extra charge.

More than 24 hours' notice, no charge. Under 24 hours we charge half, and under 4 hours we charge in full, because the carer has usually already travelled and is paid either way.

Northern Mauritius as standard, with no travel charge. We do travel further for a small charge. If you are outside the north, message us and we will give you a straight answer about whether we can look after your family properly.

Wherever we can, yes. Familiarity matters more than almost anything else in home care. When your carer is unwell or on leave, we send someone who already knows the care plan.

Some people cannot be moved safely by one person, whether that is getting out of bed, into a chair, or to the bathroom. Where that is the case, Keeshan will say so at the first visit and explain what it costs. A visit with two carers is charged at double, because it is two people's time.

Yes, and most families do. We update the care plan, the schedule and the invoice together, so the three never drift apart.

Yes. We work with registered nurses, doctors and physiotherapists who visit at home, and we brief them on the care plan beforehand so nothing gets lost between visits. Rates depend on the practitioner, so message us and we will get you a proper quote.

Yes. Dementia care is given by a health care assistant with experience of caring for someone living with dementia, not simply by any carer. Keeshan decides at the first visit who is the right match. We also offer dementia care overnight, for families dealing with wandering or night-time confusion.
