Our Story
Homebird was born from a simple belief: that growing older, or needing care, should never mean losing your dignity, your independence, or your place at home.
How it all started
Homebird began with one carer who looked after another family's father as tenderly as he would his own.
Before there was a name, or a plan, there was a family like so many others. They were trying to find good care for an ageing father, and finding it far harder than it should be. Carers came and went. Some were kind. But too often the care felt like a service being delivered to a patient, rather than time being given to a person.
And then there was Keeshan.
Vincent met him at his father's side. As his father grew more frail and came to need full-time care, Vincent began working alongside Keeshan, and what he saw stayed with him. Keeshan did not simply look after his father. He knew him. He filled the days with affection, dignity and small, ordinary joys, the walks, the little outings, the laughter, and he did it every single day. He cared for him the way we all quietly hope someone might one day care for us.
Towards the end, Keeshan was not a carer waiting at the door. He was in the room with the family, grieving beside them, one of their own. After more than two years of loving Vincent's father, that was exactly where he belonged.
It was in those tender, difficult months that an idea took shape. Care this good, this human, is rare, and it matters most at the most precious stage of a life. Every family deserves to find it. From that one conviction, Homebird was born.
Care that feels like family
This is not a slogan to us. "Care that feels like family" is simply the truest way we can describe where Homebird came from, one man caring for another as though he were his own father.
It is what we want every family to feel. That the person you love is not a case or a client, but someone known and cherished, cared for with warmth, dignity and respect, in the home where they are happiest. We understand what it takes to place someone precious into another's hands, because we have stood exactly where you are standing now. We built Homebird so that no family would have to settle for anything less than the care we were so grateful to find.
